Austin dentist Dr. Ann Thompson welcomes you into her private Westlake dental practice of over 10 years!

Dr. Thompson enjoys getting to know her patients and strives to pay careful attention to her patients’ dental concerns.  She makes sure that her patients are comfortable and that they receive the utmost quality of care.  Dr. Thompson understands that many patients come to the dental office with dental anxiety from past experiences and is able to calm even the most dental phobic patients.  She appreciates all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.  Dr. Thompson obtains well above the yearly board requirement in continuing education in order to be on top of the latest advances in dentistry, and is enthusiastic about incorporating the latest technology, such as metal-free restorations, implant restoration, laser dentistry, digital x-rays, and Invisalign into her dental practice to better serve her patients. Dr. Thompson has dedicated herself to promoting oral health and preventative dentistry in the surrounding communities, and has volunteered her dental services both locally and abroad in Haiti.

Dr. Ann Thompson obtained her B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and worked in Colorado as a research scientist in both the biotech industry and academia prior to obtaining her doctorate in dental medicine.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 2010 in Boston, MA, and was awarded the Highest Academic Achievement Award and membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. Dr. Thompson’s desire to learn has continued throughout her professional career as a dentist, obtaining over the yearly requirement in continuing education and specialized training in areas such as Full Mouth Reconstruction, Invisalign, Implants, sedation, cosmetic dentistry, and more. Dr. Thompson practiced dentistry in Round Rock and central Austin before opening her own private practice in the hills of Westlake in 2013 and welcomes patients from all areas of Austin, surrounding communities, and beyond to become a part of her dental family. Dr. Thompson enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as snow skiing and boating, but most of all spending time with her husband and twin daughters. She loves volunteering at her daughters’ school and their extracurricular activities, and she and her husband are active partners of the Austin Ridge Bible Church.

Erin – Patient Care Coordinator

Erin is originally from the Houston area and moved to Austin in 2015. She has had the pleasure of working in dentistry since 2017, and her favorite part about the field is creating relationships with patients and seeing them become more confident in their smiles! Outside the office, Erin likes spending time with her loved ones, hitting the gym, traveling, and finding new ways to enjoy the outdoors. She is also a student, taking prerequisites to one day attend dental hygiene school.

Adriene – Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Adriene grew up in South Florida, but moved to Austin in 2011 from Atlanta, Georgia.

Adriene’s dental career began in the military (US Army) back in 1986, so has had the pleasure of working in dentistry for over 30 years!

What Adriene enjoys most about the dental field is being able to assist Dr. Thompson and help educate patients by applying her knowledge and experience. Adriene has been with Thompson Dentistry since 2016.

Adriene’s hobbies include football, football, and more importantly, football!

Mireya – Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Mireya was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2001. She is a highly trained dental assistant and likes to further her dental career with continuing education courses. She is passionate about dental health. The patient experience is her priority and she works hard to ensure that patients feel comfortable in the office.

In her free time, Mireya enjoys spending time with her kids, family and working out.

Natalie – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Natalie is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and completed her dental hygiene program at New York University. Natalie fell in love with Austin after visiting in 2021 and decided to make the city home.

Natalie’s favorite part about being a hygienist is getting to know her patients and helping them improve their oral health.

In Natalie’s free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, trying new restaurants, being outdoors, and just relaxing at home with her kitties.

Diana – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Diana was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and completed her dental hygiene program at Texas A&M College of Dentistry with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Diana moved down to Austin in July of 2024 and has been loving the city ever since! Diana’s favorite part about being a hygienist is meeting and sharing stories with her patients! She loves helping her patients gain confidence in their smiles! When she is not working, Diana is kept busy with her kitten! She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, crocheting, and curling up with a nice book.
