Bridges are an excellent solution to replace missing teeth, especially if one or both of the adjacent teeth need crowns. A bridge is “fixed” in place, meaning that it does not come in and out of your mouth, and looks and feels just like your missing tooth. The process is similar to that of a crown. The teeth adjacent to the space are prepared for the bridge, and the bridge is custom fabricated in a dental lab.
Bridges are also a great solution for a patient who needs a tooth extracted and wants an immediate replacement. Usually the non-restorable tooth can be taken out and replaced with a temporary bridge all at the same time.
